Navy SEAL Veteran Evan Shelline’s VETTED Opens In-Home Care for Veterans Across Metro Detroit

TROY, Mich., September 24, 2026 — VETTED, a service-disabled veteran-owned small business founded by former U.S. Navy SEAL Evan Shelline, is now accepting VA community care referrals for in-home care for veterans in Oakland, Macomb and Wayne counties.

VETTED’s caregivers provide non-medical help at home, including Homemaker/Home Health Aide visits, respite for family caregivers, and support for Veteran-Directed Care. Veterans and their families can ask their VA social worker for VETTED by name.

The Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act, signed in January 2025, requires VA to make Homemaker/Home Health Aide care and Veteran-Directed Care available at every VA medical center by early 2027. More veterans in metro Detroit will be looking for home care, and VETTED was built to meet that need.

Shelline enlisted in the Navy after September 11, 2001, completed BUD/S, and served about a decade as a Navy SEAL. After the Navy he directed more than 60 vessel protection operations without a security incident. He chairs the Veteran Advisory Committee at Lily Hospice and is a member of his local VFW post.

VETTED also competes for federal contracts as a service-disabled veteran-owned prime contractor for healthcare, senior care and facility support services, teaming with other veteran-owned businesses first.
